An Affair of the Heart
The CCF Children Cancer Foundation was established in 1997 by a group of dedicated individuals, including Peter Zurlinden and Friedhelm Gruber. Both men remain deeply involved with the foundation to this day, serving as protectors and trustees.
For Friedhelm Gruber, the loss of a godchild to leukaemia was a formative experience. This personal experience motivated him to work with tirelessly for children with cancer and their families.
At that time, the average survival rate for children with cancer in German-speaking countries was 60 – 70 per cent. Today, thanks to medical progress, it is over 80 per cent. However, there are still significant gaps, particularly in financial terms.
As well as funds from direct donations, we achieve this by organising golf tournaments in various countries. „Golfing with Heart“ is the name of our unique – and now legendary – initiative, through which patrons regularly transform a leisure activity into a source of relief.
Our collaboration with hospitals, rehabilitation clinics and other institutions has ensured targeted and effective help for years, providing direct support to those affected.
